Sanger, TX (3/14/2017) – Root River Racing/Pro Motorsports’ Thomas Brown kicked off the 2017 AMA Pro ATV Motocross season with a hard-fought third-place finish in the 3rd Annual Daytona Supercross at Daytona International Speedway.
Brown recovered from an off-track excursion at the start and then rode through the field, taking the final spot on the podium in the final corner. Making that many passes on a tight and rough track like Daytona was no easy feat.
“It was not the start we wanted, but I just kept pushing forward,” said Brown. “I made that pass on the last lap and man it was a good feeling. I don’t know how far back I was, but I was pretty far back. So to come back to finish on the podium, especially at this race, feels really good.”
Brown has made some major changes to this program. With help from Root River Racing, Brown is running out of the Pro Motorsports tent this season. The move allows Brown to just be a rider, without the extra work of driving the transporter and setting up a pit area.
“It’s nice for me to be able to focus on racing instead of setting up pits,” said Brown. “This is the first time in my whole career that I don’t have to drive the rig and set up the pits. It’s nice to show up on Friday and ride and go racing on Saturday. Lane and Jesse stepped up big time and I’m excited to race under the Pro Motorsports tent this year.”
Brown also welcomed DWT Wheels, JB Racing and Fox shocks to the mix. “We switched to DWT Wheels, and we’re once again working with DASA, JB Racing and Fox. The whole program came together great.”
Look for Brown to continue his hard charging ways as he heads to his home state for the next ATV Motocross race April 1-2 at Underground Racing in Kemp, TX.
