New Berlin, NY (7/17/2014) – JB Racing/DWT/Mtn. Dew Live Wire Can-Am’s Joel Hetrick earned the fastest qualifier award at round number seven of the 2014 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championship at Unadilla and followed it up with a top five overall finish.
The NYCM Insurance Northeastern ATV National at legendary Unadilla saw near perfect weather. Track conditions for round seven of the series were good to start but did deteriorate and get rough. The rough track did not stop Joel Hetrick from scoring his second ATVRiders.com Top Qualifier award of the season.

For the first moto, Hetrick came out sixth on the start and began to move forward. Unfortunately, Hetrick encountered an issue in the first moto that kept him from his normal blistering pace. “I had an issue with my quad, so I just went out there and did the best I could,” said Hetrick, who claimed a fourth place finish in moto one.
In the second moto, Hetrick came off the start in seventh right behind John Natalie and began trying to make a move. Hetrick and Natalie battled back and forth; with Hetrick eventually settling in for a seventh place finish, putting him in fourth overall for the day. “I didn’t get the starts I wanted this weekend. I will definitely be going home and practicing those, but I still have to thank JB Racing and all of my sponsors for their hard work and everything they do for me,” said Hetrick.

Hetrick is still ranked second in series points heading into the final rounds and he intends to keep it that way. “I’m going to go home and practice and hopefully come back and take a couple more wins before the season is over,” said Hetrick.
