Though riddled with relentless rocks, ruts, heat and dust; the brutal 643 mile off-road battleground that is the Best In The Desert Vegas to Reno course didn’t hold privateer team Mike Cafro and Blackhills UTV back from running strong all day and securing an amazing 4th place in class finish just shy of the podium and 7th place overall. All in all a great finish considering the mechanical issues and all the veteran off-road talent they were up against. A well deserved congratulations to Blackhills UTV for their persistence through a grueling course and mechanical issues in the last 80 miles of the race. It is exciting to see momentum building and we can’t wait for the next Baja 1000 in just three weeks!
“Well… team Black Hills UTV ran strong all day, 4th overall, but issues in the last 80 miles would keep us just shy of the podium. Super bummed, but no time to dwell, three weeks and we’re back down in Mexico for the next SCORE race”! – Mike Cafro
