Primm, NV (02/11/2013) – Josh Frederick completed two stellar days of racing at round two of the WORCS Series at Buffalo Bills Casino in Primm, Nevada. On Saturday he earned a third place finish aboard the Can-Am Maverick1000R in the Pro Production SxS Class and on Sunday he earned second place in the Pro ATV Class on the Can-Am DS450.
Frederick lined up on the fifth row of the Pro Production SxS class. He had to work the Maverick through a lot of traffic in order to get near the front of the pack. Despite the thick dust he was able to make consistent progress each lap. At the end of lap one he was in 15th place and moved into 10th on the second lap. Lap three pushed the driver to seventh, and he strategically made passes to get into fourth on lap four. Frederick got his Motoworks’ prepped Maverick into third on the fifth lap and remained there the rest of the race.
“My DWT Tires were amazing. We ran the run-flats and I had no worries about getting a flat. I could stick it anywhere, and it just went. My Motoworks’ engine pulled so well; my Maverick is amazingly fast,” said Frederick.
Sunday brought another race and another podium finish for Frederick and the Motoworks team. For the ATV race the track had gotten extremely brutal and thick dust was as much a problem as lapped traffic. Frederick had started his race at the end of the pack but after the second lap made progress on the leaders.
He went from eighth position on lap one to fourth position on lap four. The DWT racer put in his fastest lap in on lap three, a 08:45.945. He was in an exciting battle for third when a mistake caused him to land on his head, but he quickly recovered and made up lost time. He continued to gain momentum and took over second place during lap ten.
“The quad was working awesome. I have to give it up to my whole DWT / Motoworks team. They have been working so hard on my Maverick and we really haven’t had much time on the quad this year. We’ve made a few changes and overall I am happy with second place. It’s been a good weekend for us and we’ll improve from here,” regarded Frederick from the podium.
Josh Frederick and the Motoworks team will return to round three of the WORCS series in six weeks at Crazy Horse in Lake Havasu City, AZ. With so much time to dial in their program you can bet that Frederick and the Motoworks team will be a threat for the win!
